Probably nobody visits this blog anymore but hey, it might be worth it again, because the new range of Dark Imperium nurgles got my painting juices flowing again :D
Sooo, I ordered those glorious models and am actually about to go pick them up in a sec, BUT, in the meantime, while waiting, I picked up something from the box, to kill Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-8951623682352747792013-06-16T21:56:00.001+02:002013-06-16T21:56:43.213+02:00Dark Eldar TalosAs announced in my previous post, the Talos Pain Engine is born. This is the first model in my up and comming Dark Eldar army. Since I decided to go all out with this guy, I thought that it would be a good idea to write up a detailed WIP description and attach some progress pics as well.
To begin with, I have to say that this is probably my favorite model in the entire WH40k range. It is a very simple kit, yet I did have some serious design decisions, that I will go over in the full story.
My troops have been lacking trasport for a long time now, so it's high time that they finally got something! :) Before I get into the WIP details, I wanted to say a few words on the design for this thing. At first, IRotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-80607834367389373402013-05-12T14:35:00.000+02:002013-05-12T14:35:43.799+02:00Dark Angels RifledreadThis AOBR dreadnought, has been sitting in my closet for over a year now. I wanted to wait with painting until I figured out a way to put him in my army list. Once I figured out, that I want to run a dual autocannon wielding badass it got really simple, really fast :)
To begin with, I had to get the forgeworld autocannons. Unfortunately, out of the whole GW product line, the only thing that Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-664881999399769322013-05-04T14:59:00.001+02:002013-05-04T15:06:24.310+02:00Sammael, Grand Master of the RavenwingThis is probably one of my favorite models. I've been meaning to paint him for quite a while but was put off by the whole failcast thing. Finally, I accumulated enough zen to sit down and bite through the fail sculpt. I tried my best to bring him to life, as he deserves, but one can only do so much.
There isn't much to say about the painting process as it was quite straightforward. I do Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-67352709506677206912013-04-13T18:58:00.002+02:002013-04-13T18:59:34.019+02:00The Fang 2013 Warsaw editionHot stuff incomming! Only 2 hours after declaring the winners, I

Before I get to the pictures, I have a few brief comments, that I'd like to share with you guys:
1)
Because you have to bring models to the store, I consider this to
be quite a local competition as I don't believe there were that many (if
any) Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-3409253314729296682013-04-10T15:48:00.001+02:002013-04-10T15:56:37.161+02:00Dark Angels LibrarianToday is a quickie. 2 evenings of work and another small piece of my DA army is ready. The librarian.
This was a rather straightforward project so I'm not going to go into a lot of details.
Suffice to say, I did the robes with an airbrush first. Did some shading on them but it didn't turn out too great. Another lesson learned there :)

Ok guys, this is going to be a lenghty post so if you want, feel free to skip the wall of text and go straight to the bottom of the page for more pics :)
First of all let me just mention real quick that Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-56047838486482760452013-03-16T12:54:00.001+01:002013-03-16T12:54:16.936+01:00Dark Angels VeteransAs promised, I've reactivated my painting mojo and as result I have this squad of veterans ready to show off, so soon after the last update! :)
There isn't much here to go over, since the whole painting process was really basic. I admit, I could've spent more quality time on the robes but I didn't want to spend an eternity fine polishing them. I have so much more to paint in order to get Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-21336499655478597312013-03-09T16:28:00.000+01:002013-03-09T16:28:58.246+01:00Deathwing Knights
I'm back! Hello everybody after a long break. Over the past 3 months, I've had a severe case of IRL but now it's back to business as usual and to hit things off I give you a finished squad of Deathwing Knights:
These guys, as well as other terminators that I've prepared, were an experiment with airbrush highlights, inspired by Buypainted from youtube. Instead of going into Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-16228499586245526542012-12-10T00:43:00.000+01:002012-12-10T00:43:23.561+01:00Diablo 3 Collector's Edition HeadSince we're at the dawn of the end of the world, I've decided to shake things up a bit on the blog and instead of pumping out the usual chaos abominations, put up something from a completely different universe.
To tell you the truth, this was a long overdue project that finally reached completion. About 3 months ago, my friend gave me his collector's edition diablo head to paint and Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-64076457581841507752012-12-01T16:09:00.001+01:002012-12-01T16:11:03.471+01:00Imperial bastionFor a while now, I've been wanting to try the new fortification system, as well as to add some meaningful terrain to our weekly matches so one thing led to another and I got myself a bastion :)
Colorwise, it was a tough cookie to crack and I really put a lot of thought into it. Listed below were my main focus points:
- I did not want it to be a duplicate of the box green version
- I wanted Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-50456786780366287802012-10-21T16:54:00.001+02:002012-10-21T16:54:48.178+02:00Nurgle VindicatorI know some of you expected Chosen to be next in line, but I've recently bought a vindicator and just couldn't resist and ended up pushing it to the front of my schedule.
I was very excited to get this guy for a fair price along with those awesome forgeworld doors. They are really well detailed and liven up the dull side-hulls very well. If you were hesistating, I strongly recommend you getRotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-79389114025727843492012-09-24T17:02:00.000+02:002012-09-24T17:02:50.169+02:00Nurgle HellbruteI hereby present you yet another mischievous creature spawned at the everpumping Rotforge :) After having finished the cultists, I set myself a goal to paint this guy up within 3 evenings, to make deadline before Pandas hit tonight. It's nice to set and achieve goals. I should definitely do this more often to speed up my painting projects.
Approximately 20 hours later it's done. Oh Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-40913803672821260232012-09-21T01:06:00.000+02:002012-09-21T01:06:44.798+02:00Chaos CultistsOnce again, I've fallen victim to the "painting a whole unit at once" stigma so it took a long while to complete but it's finally done and here is the end result:
As you can clearly see, the colors of this squad are way different than what they did in the DV set. Initially, I wanted to paint them the same, but I took a look at what paints I had and decided to go with a more "renegade IG" - Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-46941968848929688782012-08-29T20:47:00.004+02:002012-08-29T20:50:55.957+02:00Urban barricadesIn preparation for building a full-scale 6' X 4' table, I've decided to paint up some terrain, but such terrain that could also be easily transported outside of my lair and one, that would be very universal. I've always liked the look of the urban barricades so the choice was obvious. Here we go!
There are a few great things about those barricades. Not only are they fairly cheap (and you Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-68497378144003464602012-08-20T01:24:00.001+02:002012-08-20T01:24:31.681+02:00Nurgle obliteratorsSince the nurgle taint hasn't been all that present lately, with today's entry I'm going back to plagueville to bring you...nurgle obliterators! Check out the rest of the post to read the lenghty WIP description and find out why these guys are so special to me.
First of all, I'd like to say that I'm really happy with the way they turned out. I think it's my best work so far. New guys are done. This time another addition to my khorne detachment - the terminators!
First off, I'd like to mention again that I hate batch painting but it's a necessary evil to have a squad look coherent colorwise. As a result, I don't really have the patience and don't try as hard as with single (HQ) models. That's why there is some sloppyness involved so Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-85874282160891772242012-07-17T19:40:00.000+02:002012-08-02T15:53:44.465+02:00Slaanesh Daemon PrinceHaving been freed from the shackles of the Lord of Terror, I bring you: Slaanesh Daemon Prince!
Update: I've been featured (among others) on the GW blog today! http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/wnt/blog.jsp?pid=3300058

I was the only one at the store lucky enough to get it delivered today so I had to open it on the spot to let everyone see what is up.
So without further ado, here's the video, enjoy!

I know I said in my previous post that they'll be done sooner but at one Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-34687084718189982922012-04-28T12:33:00.001+02:002012-04-28T12:33:44.940+02:00What's new todayHi guys. I know that updates have been slow lately so I want to bring you up to speed on what's happening in my little workshop.
First of all, I have tons of stuff to paint. I've just bought a box of khorne berzerkers, a daemon prince and 2 metal obliterators. I still have the 5 man squad of terminators to do and those 9 plague marines...
Last night I created some cool bases for the terminators Rotforgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07161838742706651216noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5094834868869269927.post-2321992301831556102012-04-21T19:05:00.004+02:002012-04-21T19:06:33.970+02:00DMP 2012Some photgraphs from the DMP 2012, held in Warsaw over this weekend. Loosely translated, DMP stands for Polish Team-Championship Cup. There were however, some teams from abroad as well. I don't really follow the tournament scene, but it was quite a big event (well, still is, since it ends tomorrow :) and so definitely worth checking out. Plethora of pics after the break.

I've spent the last 3 hours green stuffing the heck out of it and tomorrow will be paint day :) I also used some liquid GS for the hull gaps but didn't really find it overly effective. I hope it won't show too much in the end. Here is a front pic and some more after the break.
